Greatest Job In The World

by Raymond David Salas

I can remember as a child wanting nothing more than to be a trash collector or a street sweeper when I grew up. I was an odd child I know (I still am). Both jobs appealed to me because they helped others, were off the “beaten path,” and there was a flow and routine to the work itself, all appealing attributes to my young mind.

As I look back, I can see how in many ways that I actually became both. I see my job now as helping others remove the mental debris from their consciousness (like a trash collector), thus clearing it from the road of their life (like a street sweeper), so they can experience a clear path to their greatest joy.

What do you really want to be now? What is your ultimate job, vocation, or profession?

Regardless of your answers to these questions, at the core, I truly believe that we all really want to be the same thing in our lives: a gardener for the Universe.

Gardener for the Universe job description:

Plant the seeds

My consciousness (i.e., our universal consciousness) is the most powerful and fertile soil there is. Whatever seeds I plant in this soil will begin growing immediately. The “seeds” are my thoughts and beliefs that I hold in my consciousness. I can plant any seeds that I desire. In Ask and It Is Given, Abraham-Hicks said “We want you to remember that there is nothing that you cannot be, do, or have.” The possibilities for my seeds of desire are truly endless. I must remember however that I cannot plant seeds for a tomato plant and expect an oak tree to grow. If I desire for an oak tree to grow, I must plant these types of seeds. The same holds true for any of my desires.

Water and nourish

Once my “seeds” of desire are planted, they must be watered and nourished or they will not grow and manifest to their full potential. Some of the best ways for me to water and nourish these seeds include:

  • Thinking and focusing on my desires as much as possible.

  • Visualizing and imagining my desires as fulfilled now.

  • Thinking about all of the reasons for my desires and why I want to experience them now.

  • Feeling good and expressing as much love and gratitude as possible throughout my day.

Remove the weeds

The weeds are all of the thoughts of everything that I don’t want to experience. The most powerful way for me to remove these weeds is to completely withdraw my attention away from them. These weeds cannot grow or even exist without my focus and attention on them. What are the most efficient ways to keep these weeds from returning to the garden of my mind? By following the “water and nourish” guidelines noted above in the previous section.

Allow the seeds to grow

I believe that staying out of the way and allowing the seeds of my desires to grow is the most important key for a rich and abundant harvest. It is pointless for me to keep yelling at my seeds before they have begun sprouting “Hey, are you seeds coming up yet? You’re not here yet! Where are you? I’m waiting! What’s taking so long?” My impatience would only be wasted energy. It would be more productive for me to know and trust that in their own time and in their own way, if I continue to water and nourish my seeds of desire, removing any weeds, they will bring forth all that I have planted in the rich soil of my consciousness. This is the law of nature. So, why fight or resist it?

Look for signs of growth

A better use of my energy and focus would be to remain alert for signs of growth from my planted seeds. What will these signs look like? Synchronicities, coincidences, and other signals indicating that the harvest (i.e., the manifestation of my desires) is on its way. My emotions are my most reliable guide here. If I am feeling good, the harvest is coming and on its way. If I am not, I simply need to refocus my efforts back to watering and nourishing my seeds of desire, and removing any weeds.

Harvest time

Like any good gardener knows, if I follow all of the previous steps, the harvest is inevitable. It is a sure thing, a powerful law of nature that I can always count on. What will my harvest look like? It will depend on which particular seeds of desire that I decided to plant.

“It is as easy to create a castle as a button. It's just a matter of whether you're focused on a castle or a button. No matter what it is, if you really want it, and if you get out of the way of it, it will happen. It must be. It is Law. It can be no other way. It’s the way this Universe is established. If you want it and you relax, it will happen.” (Abraham-Hicks)
